Style is always very personal, but this seems especially true when it comes to jewellery: some love ostentatious, gleaming gems, while others prefer refined, thin chains and discreet pearls. Some love the old glamour of vintage pieces, while others go for chunkier, rawer statement jewellery. La Jewellery caters to those in the latter camp.

Handmade in Wales, the brand specialises in ethically-inspired jewellery crafted from recycled brass and silver, with some 18ct Fair Trade Gold thrown in for good measure. They aim to not only pour their ethics into the jewellery they make, but also into the company as a whole, respecting both the environment (through recycled packaging) and the people in it (by ensuring fair wages all along the production chain).

One of La Jewellery’s specialties is cufflinks, and unlike most on the market, these rawer, hammered silver and brass pieces make a creative statement about a man’s creative, masculine side. We particularly like the Union Jack rectangles, perfect for Anglophiles and dads with British roots, but the I Love My Dad line, in both silver and brass, will make the ideal Father’s Day or birthday gift for any proud papa.
